My Approach to Design

My patterns often start in my sketchbook, where I will draw thumbnail sketches and create lists of words that will turn into motifs, color palettes and textures. My designs are rooted in the natural environment and a love of historical themes and often combine hand-drawn illustrations with painted motifs.

Tread

Celebrate the roads we travel and the marks we leave behind with the Tread. This collection is inspired by my time as the Director of Education at the Marshall Steam Museum in the cozy village of Yorklyn, Delaware and pays homage to the earliest days of automotive travel with  historic automobiles, vintage fashion, and art deco design.

Available for purchase on Spoonflower.
